Do goose down comforter covers exist? And what is a duvet cover?

Ok, I have a problem!

I purchased a goose down comforter years ago… and I’m in love with it. Problem is, no dry cleaner will take it… and I’ve tried washing it once and it took forever to dry – draped over a deck in 90 degree weather. SO… I need a comforter cover that I can actually take off and wash/dry. Do these even exist?! And what in the world is a duvet cover?? Anyway, need your help! Thank you!

A duvet cover is exactly what you need to slip your old comforter into.
They usually have a zipper or buttons so they can be easily removed for washing. If you sew, they are easy to make out of a couple of the correct size sheets.

A duvet cover is simply a comforter cover with a fancy name. I recently bought one for my down comforter and I love it. You can find them at any store that sells bedding. Its a great way to change the color scheme in your room without spending a bundle. I believe I payed $50 for mine at Target. Good luck!

Dry cleaners won’t take it because it’s unnecessary.

Your problem was that you didn’t use a dryer. Wash at the laundry in the HUGE machine. Put in their BIG dryer and dry for AT LEAST an hour on medium. Put a pair of sneakers in to keep the clumps broken up.

A duvet cover is just a pillow case for the duvet (down comforter)
