How do you replace the cording around a comforter? Or cover it up.?
I have this comforter that is black and white but it has pink cording around the whole thing. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to cover that up with a red color. Thanks so much for your suggestions
You can replace it by opening up the seam with a seam ripper and inserting then sewing new cording into the seam. Cording can be expensive though and you can find it at upholstery shops as well as fabric stores. The other thing you can do is carefully use permanent fabric paint markers to color the existing cording red. You can find the markers at craft stores. Most of them must be heat set to make the color permanent and then it cannot be dry cleaned only washed in the machine. You can use a blow dryer set on high heat to set the color. I find using painter’s blue tape at the very edge of the comforter fabric helps keep the line straight and keeps it from bleeding where you don’t want it on the comforter fabric.
